Many of the technologies are already used in robotics, not only in prototypes, but also in mass production. The biggest journey so far has been in the areas of computer vision and natural language processing, in other words, in the recognition of visual and text information.

Robotic systems are already in place, successfully applying some or other developments in the field of artificial intelligence. Three types of robots are among the best known analysts:

Self-driving cars. So far, these are self-driving cars, not autonomous means of transport. By law, a driver is still needed, although it is the car that does the considerable work of perception and assessment of the surrounding reality;

Manufactured robots. In production, they have been used for quite some time (e.g. high-precision machines or manipulators to assemble machines), but AI technologies have recently begun to penetrate here, such as machine training for robots designed to correct the operation of servomotors, or the use of computer vision to assess how best to pack a product;

Kitchen robots. Computer vision helps them to identify the location of ingredients and utensils and draw up a cooking plan.

In the future, the development of robotics will primarily take place through the widespread and deep adoption of AI, rather than through improvements in logistics, the authors of the survey are confident. They split the market development perspectives into short-term and long-term, although they do not call specific dates.
